EP validation

As Hungary is the member of the European Patent Agreement the European Patent can enjoy protection in Hungary after the process of validation.

We request for filing a validation the following:
  • granted version of the European Patent (description, claims, drawings), we can download it from EPO register;
  • signed Power of Attorney, without legalization.
We have to file the application and the translation within 3 months after the publication of granting. We must file the abstract as well. We can file these documents up to 6 months for a surcharge. The power of attorney can be filed later. Generally the translation takes four weeks, please take this into consideration.
