Software Centre

Georg Pintz & Partners is specialized to assist in protecting computer-implemented inventions and to represent copyright issues of softwares.

Our office helps in formulating the Hungarian amendments on the part of Hungarian Association of IT Companies to the "Proposal for the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Patentability of Computer-Implemented Inventions". The Hungarian legal practice in connection with computer-implemented inventions is partly the same as the practice of EPO and partly a bit conservative because of following the EPO practice.

Softwares as works of authorship are protected automatically upon creation. Any software, being created in a member of the Bern Union, enjoys protection in Hungary as well. Registration is only voluntary, however recommended. Our office offers assistance with registration and legal representation in connection with infringements. The following documents are required for registration:
  • 1 copy of the work (will be returned)
  • signed power of attorney
